• Choose the Right Gear When starting out: the right gear makes a huge difference. At Rollerize, we offer a range of skates to suit different sizes, from kids to adults. Beginners may feel more stable in quad skates (the classic four-wheel skates), as they provide a wider base than in-line skates. Don’t forget protective gear too—wrist guards, knee pads, and helmets help you feel more secure and ready to tackle those first few falls.

• Start with the Right Stance: Beginner skaters often feel wobbly, but mastering a solid stance can help. Keep your knees slightly bent, feet shoulder-width apart, and lean forward a bit. This lowers your centre of gravity, making it easier to balance and absorb any bumps or slips. Remember: it’s all about feeling relaxed and steady.

• Focus on Balance First: Before you get rolling, practise balancing on your skates by shifting your weight from one foot to the other.
